Golden Gate Park—a world-class, lovely, feature-packed park in one of the world's loveliest cities. In the Spring, the weather should be Springy fresh.
The White, Yellow, and both Orange courses will use "pie plate" controls. Write the letters or numbers on the pie plate down on your scorecard. The Sprint will use e-punch. However, a few of the Sprint controls are also on the other courses. If you come to one of those, write down its code number.
The Sprint earns points for Peter Gagarin's USOF Sprint series (http://petergagarin.org) and BAOC's own Spring Sprint Series.
Poison oak is not unheard of in Golden Gate Park, so know what it looks like. Only the Orange, Long Orange, and Sprint courses might venture near it.
The meeting location will be the same as the last four years: Marx Meadow (http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=john+f+kennedy+dr+%26+30th+ave&csz=san+francisco%2C+ca) along John F. Kennedy Drive between 25th Avenue and 30th Avenue. (Note: That link shows the location a bit too far to the west.) There is a remote start for all courses; the walk to the start is 15 minutes.
Registration is open 9:30 to noon, starts 10:00 to 12:30, courses close at 2:00. We will have repeating, short, beginner's clinics starting at 9:45.
Socialize! Meet people! It's potluck picnic time. Bring your goodies to share. BAOC supplies the drinks, a few morsels, and all the plates, napkins, utensils, etc.
We need volunteers for starts, finishes, results, and control pickup.

Driving Directions
From Highway 101 North or Interstate 80 West: Take the 101 North – Golden Gate Bridge exit. Stay on the freeway until it ends on Octavia Blvd in San Francisco. Cross Market and follow Octavia Street a couple blocks to Fell St, and turn left onto Fell. Follow Fell Street west for 1.5 miles, which will bring you to the east end of Golden Gate Park. The third lane from the left continues into the park along John F. Kennedy Drive. Stay on JFK Drive for about 1.5 miles. Shortly after crossing under 19th Avenue, you will see Marx Meadow on your right (on the north side of JFK Drive).
From Interstate 280 North: Take the Route 1 North/19th Avenue exit. Continue north on 19th Avenue, then continue straight through the park on Crossover Drive staying in the left lane. Bear left onto Crossover Drive. Turn left onto Transverse Drive, and then a right onto JFK Drive. Marx Meadow will be on your right (on the north side of JFK Drive).
From Route 1 South: From the Golden Gate Bridge, follow Route 1 South (Park Presidio Boulevard). Take a right mid-way through Golden Gate Park on Crossover Drive. Turn left onto Transverse Drive, and then a right onto JFK Drive. Marx Meadow will be on your right (on the north side of JFK Drive).

Daly City BART station, park your car and gather near the fare gates. You'll need a central spot to find each other!
