Meeting Highlights

By

Ev and Jean Beuerman have retired from their position as Registration Directors and South Bay registration. If you or any other club members are interested, please contact .

Alex Finch and Trinka Gillis met with Glen Schorr of Orienteering USA (the new name of USOF), and with a representative from the San Mateo Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). This and other CVBs can help us with promoting events and making contacts for land permission.

Orienteering USA has chosen a new logo, which can be viewed here (http://www.us.orienteering.org) (click on the link "USOF Becomes Orienteering USA" at the right-hand edge of the page).

Werner Haag has been approved as BAOC’s new Membership Director.

The Meridian Geographics agreement will be reworked to reflect the fact that they are holding the event mostly without BAOC help now.

The next A-meet is scheduled for Boggs Mountain, October 1-3, 2010.

We have applied to hold the U.S. Interscholastic Championships as part of our proposed A-meet at Pacheco State Park planned for April 15-17, 2011.

A committee was appointed to nominate a club member for the Golden Troll Award, a new Orienteering USA recognition for volunteers.

A new "friends for free" promotion will be offered at some events. For each member registration, a friend can run a course for free.

The board approved expenditures for Philipp Kopisch’s Eagle Scout project, a permanent course at Bayfront Park.
