Thanks to all who attended the Wildcat Scramble race. Saturday's thunder storms and fog had me a little worried, but we had a calm in the storm with great trekking weather. Hopefully you enjoyed Wildcat Park as much as I did. It's a truly beautiful spot. It has a strange history: our explorers were passing by old nuclear missile bases, abandoned oil wells, the ruins of a sanitarium, and a mysterious ghost road to nowhere. But it lives on as a wilderness at the edge of the city.
Special thanks to our great volunteers. There were big contributions from Rex Winterbottom, Mark Blair, Jeff Dickert, Donato Polignone, Bob Cooley, Nancy Lindeman, Steve Gregg, Greg Ehrensing, and James Wilson. You folks were awesome! Most of all I need to thank my right hand man Jonas Kjall. This guy helped in all aspects: from vetting courses before the event to cleaning up the trash afterward.
I also want to thank the East Bay Regional Parks—it goes without saying that this event doesn't happen without them. Special recognition to Alison, Neil, and Doug, who were a pleasure to work with.
Hopefully I'll see you at another event soon!
