Our inaugural event amid the parks and paths of the charming Berkeley Hills brought out the novices and the veterans. Ten markers were placed out on the course; most folks went "clockwise" or "counterclockwise," and there were ample variations upon those routes to reward the efficient navigators. Fortunately, the rain was gone, leaving nice, clear, and brisk running conditions. Overall, a good exercise on a fun, new 1:10000 map that will be expanded for future events.

Thanks to the helpers!

Eric Wilson and the Fleet Feet staff accommodated us, and supplied treats and drinks, free T-shirts made special for the event (they turned out great!), and bags of cool shwag. Graphic artist Ben Chan designed the T-shirt.

Nancy Lindeman and Greg Ehrensing did the registration, and Ben Legg did the map printing, went for color ink when we ran out, and did various tasks. (The maps were printed "on demand" on the spot.)

Brett Carter did the control pickup all by himself.
