What makes a successful orienteering event?

  1. The event is well-organized and runs smoothly.
  2. The competition is fair and the event is enjoyable.
  3. Each course offers the proper orienteering challenge.
  4. We are welcome to hold future events at that location.
  5. Event helpers are developed into future event directors.

What do most successful event directors do?

  1. Allocate plenty of preparation time.
  2. Recruit plenty of helpers and make sure they know their responsibilities.
  3. Prepare a well-thought-out concept for the event.
  4. Seek advice and counsel from other club members.
