Alum Rock, San Jose
Wednesday, June 16, 1999 (Practice Session)
For this South Bay practice, we return to San Jose's Alum Rock Park for our
second-ever orienteering meet there. The non-standard map is sure to
challenge your map-reading skills, but the all-trail
course will be suitable to orienteerers at all
levels.
We'll meet at the main parking lot at 6 PM. Please allow extra
time to get there as traffic gets pretty slow
coming through San Jose during rush hour.
Directions
To get to Alum Rock Park, take 101, I-280 or I-680 and exit onto Alum
Rock Avenue. Go east on Alum Rock
Ave. and follow it all the way to the end, where it turns into the access
road to the park. Turn left at the kiosk at the
bottom of the canyon and park in either of the two lots ahead.
