The Spooner Lake meet included the Junior Club Championship for our younger orienteers.
A rotating trophy was presented to the winning
club (BAOC), and individual medals were given to all participants on the winning team.
Below are the USOF rules used in determining eligibility and calculating points.
- Each team must have at least 3 members of either gender. There is no maximum
number of participants.
- All participants must be 16 years of age or younger.
- All team members must belong to the same primary club and must be members in
good standing of USOF.
- There are 8 classes: F-10, M-10, F-12, and M-12 on White; F-14 and
M-14 on Yellow; F-16 and M-16 on Orange.
- All participants must run their normal age class or higher, but not
higher than F-16 or M-16 Orange.
- The points each participant receives is based on his/her order of finish
relative to other junior team competitors in the same class. First place -
that is, highest finish among the eligible juniors in a class -
receives 1 point, second place receives 2 points, third place receives 3
points, etc.
- The scores of the three members of the team with the best (lowest)
individual scores each day are summed to reach a final total. The scores
need not be from the same team members each day, if there are more than
three members on the team.
- The team with the lowest 2-day score is the winner.
