A beautiful fall day, full of sunshine, pigs, and star thistle greeted 176 orienteers at Joe Grant Park this year. A combination of tougher than usual courses and wicked vegetation kept the winning times long, but everyone had a good time. Below are the complete results.
Two Boy Scout troops (one from Davis!) and a Girl Scout troop showed up to fulfill some requirements. The sub-patrol team of Brad and Will from BS Troop 111 took first place on the White Course, blazing around the 2.5 km in a mere 32:32. Matt and Pat Rabuzzi took the honors on the Yellow course, finishing in just over an hour. Madhukar Reddy finished Yellow in under 50 minutes, but this was his second course of the day. A tough Orange was won by Shawn Larsen in 80:41. Doug Stein beat out Dennis Wildfogel on Brown by two minutes, finishing in 52:58. Steve Jankowski won Green in 63:56 while Kent Ohlund won a tough Red in 84:36. Finally, Bruce Wolfe took first on Blue in a short 93:12.
