With a fair number of newcomers, including both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the UC Berkeley hosted about 75 orienteers for a day of campus exploration on the newly revised OCAD map. The event ran smoothly thanks to the volunteers: Van Boughner, Trevor Pering, and Syd Reader on starts, finishes, and set-up, Scott Henderson and Gary Kraght on Motala starts/finishes, Scott Aster for beginner's clinics, Steve Gregg on registration, Marsha Jacobs and Aileen Abernathy for posting results, James and Joe Scarborough for course advice, and Bob Cooley for the printing of the pre-marked maps.
