The event at Wilder Ranch started out as a foggy morning and turned into a gorgeous day for orienteering. We had 64 entries -- a very good turn out for the Santa Cruz area. Most participants made the trek from the South Bay over Hwy 17.

The park proved to be an excellent site for the White, Yellow, Orange, and Red courses. We focused the White and Yellow courses around the beach and bluff areas. The Orange and Red courses were focused around the inland areas of Wilder Ranch. These courses were set around open grassy areas and chaparral. The Orange and Red courses required detailed map reading.

On the White course, Weber group came in just over 55 minutes, well ahead of the rest of the other entries. They went on to complete a second course. Harold DeMoss dominated the Yellow course, finishing a full 5 minutes ahead of Robert and Denise Wong. The Orange course was rather technical. Josh Parish-Ploss finished 20 minutes ahead of the next finisher. Liam Corner finished first on the Red course, at just under 78 minutes.
