Golden Goat Mass Start?

20th Annual Golden Goat & Golden Kid

Briones Regional Park, Alhambra Creek Staging Area

Date: (Sun.) Nov. 8, 2015
Location: Lafayette, CA
Event Director: - 510.525.1574
Course Setter: Mikkel Conradi
Type: Extra long courses with mass starts. No Beginner or intermediate courses.

Please note that fees and time limits apply. Events are typically not canceled due to bad weather.

Note: This event is not at the "normal" Bear Creek entrance to the park. See the driving directions below.

The Golden Goat is a 20-year BAOC tradition. On November 8, 2015, be a part of history and join the herd for this toughest and most exhilarating of all BAOC orienteering races. The mass start takes place at 10:00 AM at Briones Regional Park. No goat wants to be left behind.

We will use the Alhambra Creek Staging Area entrance, which is located near Martinez. The Golden Goat is a long, physically tough mass-start event. There will also be a shorter, but also very physical, event called the Golden Kid.

Because of limited parking, there will not be any beginner or intermediate courses at this event. We apologize to those who would have liked to try a beginner or intermediate course, and invite you to attend another BAOC event. The event schedule is here.

The top 15 finishers on the Golden Goat earn Golden Goat Lifetime Points. The current table of these points is available here (PDF/83KB).

Registration be in the picnic area close to the edge of the parking lot. There will be a 150 m walk to the Start area, and there will be a 400 m walk from the Finish back to download & refreshments.

There are picnic tables at the assembly area, so bring lunch for the after party. The club will supply light snacks.
