This is it. The big enchilada. Playing for all the marbles. The best of the best of the best.

Come out and have some fun with us on the courses, then watch the superheroes receive their awards.

Awards (trophies, trophies, and more trophies) to commence at 1 PM, unless we have a tie-breaker still out on their course. We'll have some snacks set out at about 11:30 for those waiting for the awards.

New for this year: a perpetual trophy for the JV category. So now we have rotating trophies for both JV and Varsity.

So what can we tell from the current standings? The top schools for Elementary (Laurel-Encinal) and Varsity(Menlo-Atherton) are pretty much untouchable, having 263- and 297-point leads over the second-place schools.

The top two Middle School teams have only one person each, so the 16-point lead by Castillero's perfect one-person score could easily be upset if Albany brings two runners instead of one.

The real excitement will be in the race for the brand new JV trophy. Last week, Troop 60779 turned in two scores that put them on top of Eureka High. But Eureka High School's NJROTC team is making the six-hour trek tomorrow, and their five-deep JV team has the ammunition to upset the troop. But there are a lot of unknowns. Will Eureka's Emily Osborne be able to set the hundred-point pace out there, and thereby limit the point earning capability of the Troop 60779 girls? Will Troop 60779 split up one of their groups in hopes of getting three scores instead of two? And what about scary fast Billy Nichols, who set an under-seven-minute pace at Lake Elizabeth? Will his fast run again limit the earning potential of teammates Kyle Johnson, Carlos Navarrete, and Jeremy Wilson?
