Despite all the factors working against us—fire risk, power outages, threatened air quality, and ultimately a closed park system—our Sunol event still managed to be a huge success.
For those who weren’t able to join us. Here are a few highlights:
- We had 400+ participants, including more than 100 high school students from various JROTC programs.
- Our registration station, E-punch check-in, and refreshment areas are now certified wind-proof.
- Thanks in part to the strong winds, the course stayed remarkably cool throughout the day and air quality was great.
- The anecdotal feedback about courses overheard at the Finish was overwhelming positive, with a hint of exhaustion.
The success of Sunday’s event was entirely due to the volunteer efforts of the following people:
