We had perfect weather and a great turnout for our Saturday event in the hills above Woodside. Huddart Park is one of our more challenging maps, both physically and navigationally, and Mark Prior set demanding courses at all levels. Nevertheless, great runs were turned in on all the courses—congratulations to those runners, and to all those who braved the steep redwood forest!
A small but valiant crew of volunteers allowed the event to run very smoothly. The bobbles were mistakes by me—small delays at the White/Yellow Start, and delay in getting water to the advanced start—and I apologize for that to all those affected. Anyway, a big "Thank you" to:
- Mark Prior, course setter
- Peter Graube, volunteer extraordinaire! He arrived early to help set up, ran beginner clinics, and then staffed the White/Yellow Start the entire day.
- Ann Marie Cody and Tommy Ingulfsen, who put out the advanced controls
- Mikkel Conradi, who arrived early and ran to put out the White and Yellow controls, then ran to the advanced Start to tell me the beginner Start punch was missing
- Steve Gregg and Greg Khanlarov, control pickup
- Rosemary Johnson and Dennis Wildfogel, E-punch station and results
- Steve Haas and Vicki Woolworth, registration
- Rex Winterbottom, who ran advanced starts for a good while (and still had time to win Brown and run a second-course Yellow)
- Bill Murphy, who helped set up the advanced Start and ran starts there

Finally, a big thanks to San Mateo County Department of Parks and the Huddart Park rangers, including Dinora Dinsmore-Bertoni. We really enjoy visiting this beautiful park, and it was quite helpful to be able to drive the service road to set up and take down the advanced Start.

- Note: The WinSplits results for the White course didn't come out right. I can only assume that's because so many people goofed up the first few controls. Some missed #1 and then went on. Some did #1 and skipped #'s 2, 3, and 4. So Winsplits didn't recognize them as being on the same course. The splits for the other courses look OK. If there is something wrong, please contact .
