Joe Grant, Morgan Hill

January 24, 1999

This is a meet for those of you who like going downhill. The orange through blue courses will have a car shuttle to a remote start, and the courses will have a net elevation drop of about 250 meters. That will help get us off the parts of the map that those of us who have been to the 3 meets here in the past year and a half are familiar with. The white and yellow beginner courses will start and finish near the registration and parking.

As usual, volunteers to help are needed, including a shuttle driver for the remote start. Let's have some new volunteers; don't make the regulars do all the work (and it can be fun, too.) No experience needed for most of the jobs. I've even made it easy for you to sign up (and to see how desperate we are for help.) Just click here (edit: bad link to "http://u2.netgate.net/~brianm/joegrant/" removed) If this works well I'll look into moving it to www.baoc.org and making it available to the other meet directors. You can also call or e-mail Dean to volunteer to help.

To get to Joe Grant, take 101 or 680 to the Alum Rock Avenue exit in San Jose. Go east on Alum Rock to Mt. Hamilton Road. Take a right on Mt. Hamilton and proceed about 7.5 miles to the park entrance on your right. Pay the park entry fee ($4) and follow the main road and the O' signs.
