It's snowing and Ski-O season is here again! Join us at Tahoe XC (aka Burton Creek State Park) for the first Ski-O in this year's lineup. Tahoe XC features 65km of groomed ski trails, a nice day lodge with cafe, as well as ski and snowshoe rentals, all for much less than the price of a downhill ticket (see http://www.tahoexc.org for more details).

This year's event will feature regular white, yellow and orange courses, as well as a motala format for the green (two loops) and blue (three loops) courses. We will provide plenty of shortcut trails and cross-country opportunities to make route selection more exciting. All participants will be eligible for placing in the Sierra Ski-O Champs for the 2005 season. Don't miss your chance to get a head start on the competition!

All courses will use E-punch (you can rent a stick or bring your own). Registration opens at 9am. Starts are from 10am to 12:30pm. COURSES CLOSE AT 2pm - make sure you allow enough time to finish your course! The standard club entry fees apply (see the FAQ for more info). Register for the orienteering first to receive a discount coupon for the regular trail pass fee.

Early competitors waiting for the first starts at the Summit Station.

Driving Directions

Burton Creek is on the northwest side of Lake Tahoe in the Sierras. To get there, take Highway 80 to Truckee. Exit at Hwy 89 and drive south to Tahoe City. At the Y intersection continue north (straight) on Hwy 28 (North Lake Boulevard). After about 2.5 miles turn left on Fabian Way (opposite the 7-11 store). Make an immediate right onto Village Road and follow it up the hill and as it veers to the right. At the end of Village Road turn left onto Country Club Drive. Park in the Tahoe XC parking lot on your left.
