Las Trampas

Date: Sunday, January 16, 2005
Location: San Ramon, CA
Event Director: - 925-516-7622
Course Setter: Francois Leonard
Type: B; Regular Event, all seven courses, plus a long Orange (Adventure Race training)

This will be a standard event with the full range of courses offered, including a Long Orange course. The standard schedule for registration, starts and course closure will be followed. E-punch will be used for Orange, Long Orange and advanced courses. Maps are 1:10000. Poison oak is not prevalent in the area of the park used for this event, but the usual precautions should be followed. Toilets and drinking water will be available near the registration area.

As requested by park rangers, parking for the event will be in the Little Hills Picnic Ranch off Bollinger Canyon Road. There is a 1km walk from the parking area to registration.

Las Trampas is steep. Contour lines are 7.5m, and not because the mapper was lazy. At the time of writing, significant rain has fallen, which might make for slippery slopes. Cleats are recommended.

Special Note: Runners on the orange and advanced courses need to carry a compass since these courses will have a special twist...
