Recreational white, yellow and orange courses will be offered at Fallen Leaf Lake both Saturday, Sept. 13th, and Sunday, Sept. 14th. Different courses will be offered each day. In addition to the white, yellow and orange courses, an adventure race training course will be offered on Sunday, Sept. 14th. The AR training course will be of intermediate navigational difficulty (similar to that in adventure races) but longer than the typical intermediate-level orange course.

No pre-registration is required. Registration will be on the day of the event. For Saturday, registration will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and on Sunday, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Starts will be available from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, and from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Sunday. There will be free beginner's clinics on Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Sunday. There also will be a special adventure race clinic on Sunday starting around 9:30 am.

The cost for the white and yellow courses is $6.00 for an individual or the first person in a group, and $2.00 for each additional adult in a group, with a maximum of four people in a group. For the orange course and AR training course, the cost for non-members is $12.00 for an individual or first person in a group, and $2.00 for each additional adult. For members, the fee is $8.00. Juniors from age 8 to 19 are half price.

Directions

From the Bay Area and Sacramento, take US 50 east from Sacramento to South Lake Tahoe. At the "Y" intersection of US 50 with Route 89, continue north on Route 89. Go approximately 3.5 miles to Cathedral Road, and turn left into the Sno-Park.

From Reno and the east, take US 395 south towards Carson City. Turn west on US 50 and go through South Lake Tahoe. At the "Y" intersection of US 50 and Route 89, turn right onto Route 89 north. Go approximately 3.5 miles to Cathedral Road, and turn left into the Sno-Park.
