Santa Cruz
Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003

Contact: Anne Gorby, 415-482-9055

The park has 4,505 acres, with 34 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails winding through coastal terraces and valleys. Several restored buildings once belonging to the Wilder family are preserved. The park has tours and living history demonstrations to help visitors explore the history of early ranchers and farmers along the Central Coast. The site was originally the main rancho supplying Santa Cruz Mission. It later became a successful and innovative dairy ranch. Surrounding grounds include Victorian homes, gardens, and historic adobe.

For this C-Level meet we will be offering four courses: White, Yellow, Orange, and Red. The proposed distances are as follows:

    White 2.7 km
    Yellow 3.6 km
    Orange 6.7 km
    Red 8.7 km
Elevation gain remains to be confirmed.

The start and finish areas are the same and near the registration area.

Registration will open at 9:00 am and end at 12:00 pm. Starts will be available from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. The Beginner's clinics will be offered around 9:30. All courses will close at 2:00. There is time limit of three hours to complete the course or to check in at the finish.

The park is about 4 miles north of Santa Cruz, immediately west of Highway One, just a mile or so past the Western Drive stoplight. There is sign for the park, so turn west at the sign. Please note that there is a day-use fee of $5.00 per vehicle.
