Mid-week training session

Treat yourself to an evening trail run at beautiful Rancho San Antonio park. I will set a standard one hour Score-O using an OCAD version of the club's venerable 1984 map that Thorsten made a couple of years ago. (Thanks Thorsten!)

Please let me know, either by e-mail or phone if you are likely to come to the event, so I can print up an approxiamately correct number of premarked color maps. Come out to run even if you didn't call me (I'm going to make plenty of extra black and white copies of the premarked map).

Bring a pen and a dollar for the map. Running shoes and shorts are appropriate attire, as the entire event will be on trails (shortcutting is frowned upon by the rangers).

Directions

To get to Rancho San Antonio, take the Foothill Expressway exit from I-280 and head south on Foothill Blvd. Turn right at the first light on Christo Rey Drive and go ~1 mile to the park entrance. I will be doing starts from 5:30 until 6:30pm.

Meet us in the picnic area just across the creek and to the right from the main parking lot at the end of the park drive (i.e. go the the parking lot with the restroom building, cross the creek to the southwest, and head northwest about 100m until you see some picnic tables underneath some trees). Parking goes fast, so come early (before 6pm) or be prepared to hunt around for a spot.

Join us for dinner afterwards (around 8pm) at Hobees Restaurant at the "Oaks" across from De Anza college, near the intersection of Hwy 85 and Stephen's Creek. From the park, get back out to 280 south, immediately exit onto 85 south, then immediately exit onto Stephen's Creek Blvd. Turn left at the end of the off ramp, make a U turn at the second light and turn right into the Oaks shopping center.
